Clive Broadley, Board Member of BIFA and President of Clecat
The surge in compliance and security legislation and regulation seems relentless in all aspects of international trade. AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) status encompasses most of the security and compliance issues, though not all, and similar regimes are appearing in most of the trading world.
What is AEO? Is it good for business, is it necessary or just an encumbrance international trade does not need? What else is around the corner?
Our speaker, Clive Broadley, has just retired as Managing Director of Meachers Global Logistics. He spent 46 years in international trade and forwarding logistics and had a long involvement in many aspects of Exporting and Importing. He remains engaged in the sector, continuing to reside on the Board of the British International Freight Association (BIFA) and is the current President of Clecat in Brussels. Clecat represents the Forwarder Associations throughout the UK in EU Customs, Logistics and EU Commission issues. He will continue to advise and consult.
David Bickford, Partner, Penningtons Solicitors LLP in Basingstoke, will briefly discuss the implications of the new Bribery Act for UK exporters.
There will be a buffet, drinks and networking followed by the presentations at 7pm. This will be followed by a question and answer session.
